You lose power when you use power.

A famous politician once told me in private that “you lose power when you use power.” He wanted me to make a specific decision without having to tell me what choice to make. It was up to me to figure out what choice would trigger the “use of power.” I deduced that for my long term good, I didn’t want the trigger pulled. I wasn’t talking to Don Corleone, but I got the connection.
