I decided to make a statement in our front yard by burying an old shovel point up.  A year later nasturtiums broke through the ground where they were protected from the sun by the shovel’s shadow. However, two hours after I took this photo, a gopher ate all the nasturtiums.  The moral of this story…well, I’ll let you know.
