I looked up my neighbor’s towering tree yesterday and spotted the strangest bird at the top. Given that we live near the ocean, I assumed it was some type of rare sea bird–long beak with short body. Grabbed my camera.
False alarm. When I downloaded the shot, I could see the bird (probably a scrub jay) had a large nut in its beak. And I thought I had one for Ripley’s.
