Dust Bath


Yesterday I saw a bird ” convulsing” in dirt and bark. Turns out this bird, a California Towhee, was taking a dust bath; i.e. coating its feathers to remove excess oil.

    Saw 2 quail in my garden taking a dust bath last week. Could not capture a good picture because they were never still. Ha
