I took this shot of a starfish in a tidepool off of Asilomar Beach, Monterey, CA, a few years ago. The warming of ocean waters has spread a pathogen that leads to a starfish wasting disease; i.e., starfish are dying at alarming rates. Ten years ago they were a common fixture along the Monterey Coast, but now I rarely see them. Abuse of the planet by humans is unforgiving.
A picture of a beautiful creature. I heard of that wasting disease of the starfish. Mankind is abusing and destroying this planet. The deer in Arkansas now have a wasting disease. Sad.

Only the insects are thriving on the coast.
