Yesterday, for the first time this season, several painted lady butterflies and pairs of cabbage whites visited our backyard. OK, it wasn’t an invasion, but it was a relief to see butterflies flitting about all day long. This year I’ve never seen more than one butterfly at a time in the neighborhood.
