Like many stray dogs in a shelter, Ivan didn’t respond well when his name was called. After we adopted him we happened to walk with Ivan by a large statue of a mostly blue dog with the name tag, Leo. I said the name out loud, LEO and Ivan’s ears shot up. And that is how Leo got his name back. But the statue’s right leg had a mishap several years ago, so wooden Leo was out of commission until recently. Now he’s whole again, although my Leo has lost interest in his namesake. Life goes on.
