There is a random beauty in a forest floor covered with pine needles, fallen branches, some with lichen, spent pods, an occasional flower and filtered light. We walk on or by it, but often don’t notice how everything is arranged. This floor is in the woods overlooking the town of Truckee, California.
In the deep forest near Truckee, California with sunlight leading the way. Photo taken yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon I hiked on Granite Trail at Point Lobos, stopping at times to capture the sun’s ray filtering through the forest. Drought and high winds have downed many trees, but there are signs of new growth everywhere. Peace.
