Bird in the Rain
What do birds do in the rain? This one spread its wings for a standing bath. This year I can say it rains everyday in California.

A California towhee takes a bath in our front yard makeshift tub–a drip hose running over a terra cotta saucer. We clean the saucer frequently as it is used daily by a variety of birds.

Monday Morning Bath
A scrub jay attacked the backyard bird bath this morning. Had to take this shot with a telephoto lens through a window. The jay is jittery and will flee if I move too much inside–it’s a privacy issue.

Wild Bird Bath
The water in our bird bath doesn’t last long. I assumed evaporation was the cause until I looked through the window this week to see a blue jay engaged in one wild birth bath. These shots were taken through a window.
