Copy - DSC_0114We are given special moments where we can listen, see and appreciate, but often bypass these opportunities for matters of less importance. Take the geese that flew over my house yesterday. I take joy in their flight. When I worked full-time in an office building in the November months, I always made it a point to go outside around 4 p.m. in hopes of catching a migration heading south. The experience helped center my life in terms of what matters. It was the act of going outside that counted as much as actually seeing geese. And for those who’ve put observing nature on a retirement bucket list, I’d say, it’s a mistake to wait! Our ability to listen and to see should be heralded every day, not when convenient.

There is another side to Canadian geese. They are a danger to jets taking off and landing at airports. They are messy. This is called reality. Take a moment for what it is at that moment. This is called reality. Breathe in, breathe out.
