The hallway on the left is not in a luxury hotel, but rather it is an elaborate pathway along the basement rooms in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The building was modeled after the Paris Opera House and is unlike any structure you’ll see in the United States. I call it gaudy and mysterious, especially this hallway, restricted to people with official business, whatever that is. Clearly, I thought I was in a Dan Brown novel and, oddly enough, saw no one in the 30 minutes that I walked around this maze of marble and granite, although I wondered if anyone was watching me!
