With about 30 minutes of daylight left yesterday, I took my camera out to the backyard where winter weather has stripped the vegetation of color, save for one remarkable yellow rose swaying in the wind. I took a photo with a low sun peeking through the leaves of a tree only I didn’t notice the sunburst until I downloaded the shot. I like that the rose is close and above the sun, but most of all, I appreciate the “art” that exists so close to me at a time of year when colors are grayish and we think we have to go to the mountains, rivers and the ocean to capture nature’s beauty.
