DSC_0228 - Copy“You are what you eat” is a term crafted over the centuries by various people, some spiritual, some dietetic. Whatever! Today boxes and bags of processed food, say for chips or crackers, are plastered with marketing messages aimed at those who believe there is a link between health and what we eat. Sounds reasonable. Take the bag in this photo—the maker touts that the contents inside are organic, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, peanut free, tree-nut free, whole grain, non-GMO, kosher and made in California. They saw me coming. I’m gluten-free kind of guy who doesn’t like my food genetically altered. However, in the end, I have to remember that the contents are chips, not a staple of healthy eating, but at least I will feel better consuming stuff with all the right labels
