Monuments are man-made structures that often paint history with a broad brush, that is, they don’t tell the whole story. So, for this photo challenge I selected a wacky piece of public art unveiled in downtown Sacrament in 2000. “Walking the Dogs,” created by Gilbert “Magu” Sanchez Lujan is my kind of monument. I will confess that for over a decade, I thought this figure was a giant, road tripping rabbit until I read the plaque this year. I took these photos yesterday. One shows the dog reflected in a window with a shutterbug tourist. Note how the feet are truly “dogs.”
