Remember the 1966 song with the line: “The mornin’ sun is shinin’ like a red rubber ball” ? I never liked the song—sappy but, clearly, unforgettable. So, some sunrises/sunsets are “a red rubber ball” for me and I have Paul Simon, the great lyricist, to thank for this. However, yesterday in Carmel the sunset was not a “red rubber ball,” but more like a giant Bundt cake. Paul, do a line for that!
