Travel writers claim the “lone cypress” on a cliff off of 17-mile Drive (a private road in the Monterey Peninsula) is the most photographed tree in California. True, the parking lot near the tree is usually full of tourists, including those on tour buses. But I don’t think the tree is a special photo-op. I took a shot straight on and then I captured another cypress nearby with some added perspective. I like the “perspective” because it emphasizes the fragility of the coastal landscape.DSC_0322 - Copy
