DSC_0292 - CopyAs a follow up to yesterday’s post predicting that San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey would power the team to the World Series, I was a little off. First, the team will be in the World Series for the third time in five years. Secondly, the Giants are truly a team—no one player dominates the performances. Finally, Travis Ishikawa was the hero (one could argue that Michael Morse was a co-hero) by ending the game with a three-run shot over the bricks in right field. He was cut by the Pirates earlier in the year and was hitting poorly in the minors—contemplated retiring when the Giants (he was on the Giant’s 2010 World Series championship team) offered him a spot. What a story!

It really is great to be a fan, to like the character of the players you cheer and to win.
