Here is local news taken to the extreme:
The much anticipated revamped public restroom at the south end of Carmel-by-the-Sea beach is two month’s overdue. However, I’ve heard it may be open any day now. Hopefully, today’s expected Pineapple Express rain storm won’t cause any damage to the roof which, as shown in the photo, is a plot of local vegetation. The original “coming soon” sign indicated there would be a grand opening celebration for the rest room area. I’ll pass on this.
Carmel is a dog-friendly town and with the revamped bathroom facilities—there’s also a nice one the north end of the one-mile long beach—I’d say it is restroom friendly as well.
I believe a town says much about itself by how it offers visitors a chance to relieve themselves. In my experience Carmel is the best and Pisa, Italy is the worst.
