The Movie-Like Wren

My favorite line from ” Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” comes when the pair are being pursued by a posse that never gives up, hence, Butch Cassidy’s (Paul Newman) refrain: “Who are those guys?” In the true spirit of my wandering mind, this refrain fits these small birds–some kind of wren– that are always around the yard, even in winter. They aren’t highly colorful, but they do appear to have an attitude. They are constantly posing on fences as if to say, ” You talkin’ to me?” just as Robert De Niro did in “Taxi Driver.”
