EGO

I left my ego

On the table

With spilled coffee,

A crumpled newspaper

And unpaid bills.

No big movie music

Alerting all I have become

A phoenix

Until I obey

This infernal paper cut of a reminder

To tidy up a bit

Before I become a legend.
