Most visitors to Carmel catch flat horizon sunsets from Carmel-by-the-Sea beach (not shown), but spectacular views are waiting about 3/4 of a mile to the South: Carmel Point on the right and to the left, jutting out into the Pacific Ocean, Point Lobos. The risk is that the points get socked by wind and fog more than the city beach.
