
I spotted another “face on the rocks” this past week near Carmel Point. If you don’t see one, let me know.
Pareidolia is the psychological phenomenon where our mind sees an object (or sound) that is a familiar figure, like a face in the clouds when, of course, there is no such thing in reality. In this photo I see the chiseled countenance of an old man…and since my parents once told me I was part Cherokee, I immediately connected this face with that of an aging tribal leader. True or not, that is what flashed through my mind.
