The terrorist attacks of the past month, especially the Paris horror, prompted me to search for some peaceful scene. While there is serenity in this shot of Mission Carmel, founded in 1770, as seen from a nearby hill, I remind myself that the mission was built with native labor that according many historical accounts was coerced. And then there is the link between religions and war. A few days ago I posted two words, “Resolve” and “Paris” in blue, white and red in a dark night lit only by a distant full moon. We have to achieve coexistence with tolerance and that will take a great deal of resolve.
