Shades of brown are the dominant colors in the hills of Carmel. But as I witnessed yesterday, there are spots of blue, orange and yellow in the undergrowth. The blue and yellow belong to the Douglas iris and the orange to a mushroom I couldn’t identify, nor would I want to eat.
