Every Ingmar Bergman movie I’ve watched inspired this shot of the moon framed by evergreens. He was the master of low-light drama whether it was a returning knight in The Seventh Seal, or the revenge seeking father in The Virgin Spring. The cinematographer on many of his films was the great Sven Nykvist. Check out Bergman’s Winter Light for a taste of Nykvist’s skill with the camera.
