I don’t have a single photo that captures the Earth. Sure, I’ve been to the Grand Canyon, the Swiss Alps and the rolling hills of Tuscany—shots of those places are marvels of natural beauty. I picked what I know: the beach down the street with giant boulders holding back the Pacific Ocean and the constant interplay of light and objects producing colors that don’t appear real to our common senses—that is Earth to me.

The second shot is of a nearby valley in the Ventana Mountains with sunlight haze producing a bluish-pink cast in the distance.
