They’re everywhere, easy to photograph and cute in the eyes of some beholders. The squirrel was my go-to subject a few days ago when the temp hit 104. We caught each other’s gaze-neither of us moved. Squirrels are the reason our rescue dogs run around the backyard. Luckily for all concerned, we have an ample number of trees to allow for escapes. However, as shown in the photo, the neighbor’s garage roof is the ultimate safety zone.
