Weekly Photo Challenge: Narrow

This path up a cliff at Soberanes Point fits my definition of “narrow,” especially when you come down from the top and find yourself almost running while veering into the underbrush.  Unfortunately, today this hiking area is near the heart of a raging forest fire that has consumed 33,000 acres, destroyed 57 homes and taken one life.

This photo below taken yesterday shows fire trucks at a Carmel shopping center, about six miles from the blaze. The fire is 15 percent contained. Over 4,200 firefighters are involved in the battle–they appear to have established a safe  line that will protect homes in Carmel Highlands.
