Monday’s Path…Gone?

Garapata State Park’s Canyon Trail wound through ancient redwoods, providing the hiker with the spiritual high of filtered light and cool air in the middle of a hot sunny day. I use the past tense because this irreplaceable environment has been closed since a July 22 forest fire. I assume it is no more. Gone? Well, there will still be a path to be taken, but one with grim reminders of how irresponsible people commit crimes against nature. An unattended camp fire in an area where campfires are banned was the cause of the blaze.
