I like my nasturtiums and California poppies to grow wild and, yes, to become overgrown. A great example of overgrown is a nearby cottage at Carmel Mission Ranch, a former dairy farm developed into a hotel by owner and actor Clint Eastwood. The front door is partially obscured by a magnificent flowering vine. I wonder if my bees have been here? FYI: This is a great place to stay and eat with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
