Decades ago I was a child photographer, shooting exclusively in black and white. I developed my own film to keep costs down and quality up. Those were the days when my fingertips were stained by “fixer.” Now, I just point and shoot and don’t worry about costs. But, as a consequence, the world of those who capture a child’s joy in the digital age has expanded. The law of averages dictates that at least one of a hundred shots will be a keeper. So much for the days when it would take an hour to find out if I had a winner.
