
(Follows yesterday’s post). When we reached the dried up river bed at Panther’s Den, the forest canopy had turned day into dusk. It was so dim I almost missed this butterfly in what had been a stream a few months ago. I’d never seen this type before. It’s an Eastern Comma. seriously, an insect named after my favorite punctuation.
Tomorrow I’ll post the unexpected sighting to the left of the butterfly.
