A male cardinal chats with his mate below on telephone wires running along side Green Earth’s owned trust land, Chaquatauqua Bottoms in Carbondale, Illinois. These red birds are plentiful, jazzing up the landscape as they streak by in search of a snack. I’m positioned near a wild bird feeder which the cardinals frequent along with less colorful birds.
