Inland temps were over 100 yesterday but at Carmel State Beach it was a cool 50- something thanks to the dynamics of fog. Visibility was poor for beach goers, if there were any in the morning. Although the fog burned off around noon, it  returned by 4 p.m. . This isn’t news, just the risk that vacationers take hoping there one week in August will be sunny. Still, the comfort zone on the coast is preferable to areas to the north and east where wildfires have coated the surroundings with ash amid record heat. The new normal?

The new normal is insane! People will wake up, unfortunately, when it is far too late.
