DSC_0027.JPGPlease file this post under “things I didn’t know about San Francisco.”  Nestled in the city’s world famous  1,017-acre Golden Gate Park is the Angling and Casting Club where anyone can practice fly-fishing for free. There are even free lessons provided on the second Saturday of each month.

My daughter showed me this venue yesterday. When we entered the park we saw signs alerting parks users that wild coyotes had been spotted in the area. Coyotes in San Francisco…something else I didn’t know about its urban park. In fact, in a 20-minute walk we saw bison, a live rock band playing and  lots of dog walkers, ourselves included.

Many years ago, i used to flyfish and i would even tie my own flies. I used to be able to land a fly on a dime. (Well… maybe more like a quarter.) 🙂
