Wet lemon tree leaves.

After 200 days Northern California got soaked. Forest fires were  doused although mudslides are next if the rain doesn’t subside. There are a few small fires in areas inaccessible to fire fighters.

Took this shot of wet lemon tree leaves in the morning. Raindrops beaded up on plants–it was nice to witness this type of moisture for the first time in about seven months.

The President toured the wildfire destruction and  still failed to grasp the idiocy of his forest management remarks. We are in a drought climate. He says  if we “raked” the forest, we’d removed the stuff that feeds fire. I guess he wants a giant firebreak; i.e., take down all the trees suffering so there was nothing left that would burn. Ironically, no tragically, his administration released a climate change report yesterday that warns everyone that people will die and our economy will suffer under the wrath of climate change.

Marla and i belong to the Sierra Club (and donate to it monthly). One of the main directors of the Sierra Club was on CNN today, talking about how Trump is so anti-healthy–environment (and about how “so very wrong” he was regarding managing/preventing the fires). Trumpster is quite the Ass! Such devastating fires are supposed to increase 6-fold in the near future. Sad!
