Here’s one of my favorite shots of San Francisco, taken ten years ago near a trolley stop at Knob Hill. At first the warning signs caught my attention. Then in the shadows I saw a man reading a book. There was something about this photo that clicked only recently. This man wasn’t looking down at a cell phone! This image is truly from another era.

Yesterday while walking the dogs, I spotted a woman meditating on the beach and thought how this is much more common sight than seeing someone reading a book on a street corner.

I spend time everyday thinking about how life, the world, is evolving. I’ve been turning my cell phone off in spurts for the past week. I bought a book yesterday.  Today, I wrote this post…(insert mantra).
