Double-Crested Cormorant

Went to the Carmel River Lagoon yesterday to see how wildlife were adjusting to storm damage. It was overcast and about all I could find were mallards by this fallen tree partially submerged in the river. Frankly, this dark bird was staring at me from its perch on this tree–I didn’t see until it moved its head. My bird app says it is a double-crested cormorant. Check out the web feet!
