Nothing Common about the Buckeye


It is called the “common buckeye,” but the color on this butterfly’s wings is anything but common. Took this shot in our yard where we see buckeyes during the first half of the year. Count the wing colors: orange, blue, black, yellow, white, red, pink and brown.
