Our flowers are blooming and so are the cobwebs. I didn’t see them until I enlarged this photo–checked the other flowers and, yup, cobwebs, save for the geraniums.
One of my earliest childhood memories was a visit my family made to a very old woman who lived alone in a house built in the 1780s. She had potted geraniums in her house and outside each window. She told me geraniums keep spiders away, at least that is how I remember what she said. Many years later on a trip to Italy, I noticed that people kept potted geraniums by their windows.
Was the woman Miss Lusk?

No it was Ms. Larue (not sure of spelling) who lived alone in the brick house at the corner of Gaston Road and Washington Valley Road.
