The peruvian lily or astroelmeria is a popular flower in the Carmel area. Originally from the cool mountain regions of Peru, Chile and Brail, this lily is known for its long vase life–up to two weeks. We have them all over in great numbers this year due to a long rainy season with cool weather. We also have two dogs that sometimes wrestle in the lilies. I’m glad these are bulb plants that grow back after being trampled.
