Sacramento Mushroom

I was in downtown Sacramento this week when I spotted what looked like a worn out rubber ball about a foot away from the street. Turned out to be a weird mushroom growing in an area by a broken sprinkler. I certainly would recommend against eating any of it. I saw three other similar mushrooms nearby. I also saw a wild turkey roaming the parking lot of an upscale shopping plaza–it tried to go into Noah’s Bagels. It was a strange week for sightings in this sizzling heat metropolitan area of a million-plus.
