The legs of this honey bee were coated with pollen collected from English ivy yesterday. The bees are making an all out effort to bring pollen to the hive and to turn it into honey to live on during the winter months. There is a low, constant buzz in the ivy during much of the day. Our dog Teddy sits by and listens. The bees leave her alone.
