Pacheco Pass is a connector between California’s coast and its agricultural rich, central valley. I frequently drive this pass route that cuts through what is known as the Diablo Range. Once in a great while near sunset I will pull to the side of the road to take photos of the soft hillsides, the gnarled oaks, their shadows and the electrical lines. There are trails through some of these areas, but I’ve never walked them. I’m always running late to be somewhere. I will have to correct that oversight soon.
