There is a tree that looks like a reindeer in the Sutter Buttes, or so I was told. I was 15 feet from it, still oblivious to this wonder, when I suddenly caught site of the nose and eyes. Maybe this was a test of how we look at the world, one I barely passed. Yours truly did not recognize the nostrils at first, one of the most obvious features. Imagination not required, the tree has all the aspects of a reindeer, plain and simple. Amazing.
