All but one of the egrets that I have photographed over the years were in coastal waters and lagoons. The lone exception is this Big City egret that hangs out in Sacramento, California’s capital, about 90 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Saw it yesterday by a man-made duck pond that usually doesn’t have any ducks in it. Also saw it a year ago in the same place. Was it the same egret? Let’s just say it was.
