Giant Butterfly Invasion, No One Is Safe


An invasion of giant butterflies sounds like a science fiction horror movie, at least that’s what I imagined after I took these photos. First, these were large butterflies to begin with. Secondly, the one on top was at the bottom of a secluded trail in the Shawnee National Forest. The woods were still with a canopy of tall trees filtering out much of the sunlight. The yellow swallowtail looks gigantic because of the angle of the shot. It was in my sister’s backyard, miles from the Shawnee Forest. But by that time, I had the butterfly invasion on my mind.
