Carmel is a dog’s paradise with water stations along the path and on some stairs that lead to the famous city beach. But until this year there was a mile-stretch of road in Carmel that runs along the Pacific Ocean that was without a place for canines to drink. The drought is now over, thanks to the kindness of a homeowner who plumbed a water line to street side so dogs could drink fresh water after romping on the beach and discovering that sea water doesn’t work. Inscribed on concrete over the covered drinking area is “Carmel Dog Bar.” Thanks.
