After six weeks of confinement and restricted on leash walks, the vet cleared the chow-husky mix we are fostering, for off leash activities. His shelter name is Ivan, a very sweet dog that didn’t have a hip socket for its right rear leg. The surgery was intended to allow muscle to hold the leg in place. Our rescue dog, Teddy, also has muscle holding a rear leg in place.
These shots show Ivan on the day he was set free in our backyard. “Joy” is one of the adjectives to describe his behavior. Not shown are Anne’s rehab skills, especially patience, required to give Ivan a new leash on life.
