Every dog at an animal shelter has a story about how they ended up caged, their existence dependent on someone reclaiming, or adopting them. According to the ASPCA, 670,000 dogs were euthanized at shelters across the United States last year. On the plus-side, 1.6 million were saved via the adoption process. I went to a shelter yesterday and took the above photo of a dog in need. It didn’t bark, or make eye contact, but I bet it would make a great companion once trust was established.
